Yes, the Soapy Smith skull still exists (Skagway, Alaska). It was painted on a natural rock formation of a human skull in the 1920s as a tourist dedication to Klondike gold rush bad man, Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith. I use the skull on my Soapy Smith website as he was my great-grandfather.

i think i've got two or three other photos of this thing... must've been shot by tons of folks. i can't believe it is still there and you heard from a family member.. the world is tiny!
